Saman Shafiq is a digital journalist, visual storyteller, and researcher from Lahore. She recently completed her Master’s in Digital Journalism and Media Innovation from New York University.
Prior to starting graduate school, Saman worked as a journalist in Pakistan and was the founding editor of a digital-media startup aimed at young Pakistani millennials, The Current, which was supported in part by the Google News Initiative.
Her journalistic interests include entertainment and culture reporting and building and connecting audiences online.
In her free time, she is often caught watching and dissecting Pakistani dramas, kickboxing or exploring old buildings in whichever city she is.
Saman is based in New York City.
