Aekta Kapoor is the founder of eShe magazine, which amplifies women’s voices and stories of our shared humanity. She launched the peacebuilding initiative South Asia Union to empower women leaders to further the cause of peace in Southasia. She is an award-winning editor who previously worked with fashion publications such as Marie Claire India, Harper’s Bazaar Bride, and Fashion101, India’s only multilingual fashion website. She is a founding member of Sapan.
Her reports on social trends, women’s issues, and the business of luxury have appeared in The Economic Times, Money Control, OPEN magazine, The Hindu, Mint Lounge, News18, Newslaundry, and CNBCTV18, among others. She has given guest lectures at IIM Ahmedabad and several media and fashion colleges in Delhi, Jaipur and Bhopal.
Aekta was a mentor for UN Women’s Industry Disruptor 2020 in India and Europe and for the UNDP Investor Consortium for Women Entrepreneurs 2020 in India. She has authored a spiritual memoir 100 Paths: A Woman’s Search for God in the City (2017) and edited an anthology of fiction Everything Changed After That: 25 Women, 25 Stories (2021).
Certified in hypnotherapy, neuro-linguistic programming and pranic healing, she facilitates personal-growth sessions and conducts guided group meditations under eShe’s trademarked workshops Shine Your Light.
She is based in New Delhi, India.
